Gary Joseph Brown passed away on March 29, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. Born on December 6, 1954 to Leo & Margaret (Bear) Brown in Lander, WY. He attended school at St. Stephens Indian School and graduated from Lander High School in 1974. After graduating he married Annette Lajeunesse and made his home in Ft. Washakie, WY till 1998 when he moved to Colorado and later married Johnella Mendyke Brown. Most of his life he worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Shoshone & Arapaho Tribes, Doug Evans and various other companies. Gary liked to hunt, camp, fish, ride horses, spend time with his family and best friend Sharrell Burcham. He was of the Catholic faith and traditional ways. He is survived by his children Jason Brown & Aleta; Guy & Wendy Brown; Brandon Brown & Naomi; Jesse LoneBear; Crystal and Tito Trujillo & children Tristan and Chance; and Elizabeth Ramstien. Brothers Martin Brown I, Roger Brown, and Leo LoneBear II. Sisters Georgine, Pamela, Brenda, Darlene Brown, Cora & Flora Willow. Nephews George, Martin Brown, Leo LoneBear III, Ivan Brown II. Nieces' Janette, Kerry, Heather Whiteplume, Andrea Clark, Diane Wagon, Dawn Brown, Cora, Margurite, Donna, Ida, Crystal, Gene, Coretta, Holly, Marion, Bessie Brown, Leora LoneBear, Helen Mafua. Numerous other cousins, aunts, uncles, grandkids, and friends. Preceded by his parents, grandparents Pete & Cora (Gambler) LoneBear, Jerry & Ida (Friday) Bear, Rita (Gambler) Lee, Margaret (Gambler) Spoonhunter, grandson's Dillon E. Whiteplume, Francis Whiteplume, niece Mary Kay Brown, and brother's Ivan Brown I and Lamont F. Brown Visitation will be on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 5:00 – 9:00 pm in the Blue Sky Hall. A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, April 2, 2011 in the St. Stephens Catholic Church, Arapaho, Wyoming. Burial will follow in the St. Stephen's Mission Cemetery.
