I knew Gary as my brother in law. I'm related to Gary through my late husband Phillip Thomas and his sister, Judy (Thomas) Bullard. I have good memories of Gary. Very wise and respected man. I miss him very much. I miss our small conversations through family gatherings. He is and was a true friend to Phillip and myself through the years of his life. We loved him and his family very much. Dear Bullard family, I am so sorry for your loss at this time. Bishop Bullard was such a wonderful man. I remember as a teenager him calling us up in Sacrament meeting to give impromptu talks. I learned to always have a talk prepared and with me on Sundays and to be comfortable with public speaking. His hugs were the best! When I ran into you at the church's distribution center in Salt Lake may years ago, after being gone from Milpitas for several years, it was such a treat to see you both...

I live in San Jose, CA and have since I was very, very small. I remember so well when I was in YW and he was Bishop of the ward. He was always so much fun-and when I started taking Spanish in school (and fell in love with it) he would speak to me in Spanish so I could practice. Dear Judy and family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Gary was the bishop who helped Russell and I regain activity in the gospel and make our way to the temple to be sealed as a family for time and all eternity. His influence affects us even now, 37 years later. He was an amazing man. During this time of loss, lean on each other, and lean on the Lord. Know that many were greatly influenced by him and by the two of you as a couple. I hope the love of so many will help sustain you.
