Read MoreI was a student in Gary's Entertainment Law class at UCLA Law School in about 1981 or 1982. He was an inspirational teacher and I followed him into his profession. I was surprised and saddened to see his obituary today. I extend my condolences to his family; I trust his memory will be a blessing to them as are my memories of his kindnesses to me.

I was one of those younger entertainment lawyers who was fortunate enough to have Gary as a mentor in my early career. His guidance and support were invaluable to me. He was also a wonderful man. Funny, loyal and fierce when need be. I could have lived without the cigars, but that was just part of the package. He will be sorely missed by many. My condolences to his wonderful family. Gary´s life was one well lived.
