GARY CURTIS

April 7, 1941 - March 29, 2015 EDMOND Gary Don Curtis, of Edmond, OK and Albany, OR, left this earth peacefully to ride horses in heaven March 29, 2015. He was doing what he loved, working with horses and spending time with his wife. He touched many lives with his kind and generous nature. Gary was born in Ardmore, OK and graduated from John Marshall High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Central Oklahoma. After serving in the Marine Corps, and serving over fifty years as a Mason, he also reached a thirty second degree and Shriner rank. Gary had a twenty-nine year career in the OKC Fire Department and achieved the rank of Fire Marshal and retired in 1995. Gary enjoyed spending time being surrounded by his family. Gary loved his wife, children, and grandchildren unconditionally and without exception. We will miss him for the rest of our lives. Gary is survived by his wife, Rosalee, married over fifty-two years. Gary is also survived by his devoted children, Todd & Joan Curtis, of Edmond, OK; Jason Curtis, of Albany, OR; Candy Curtis, of Plano, TX; and Lori & Danny Higginbottom, of Newcastle, OK; and grandchildren, Zeth Higginbottom, Caralyn Curtis, Isac Higginbottom, Josef Curtis, Caleb Higginbottom, Emma Rosalee Curtis, and John Curtis. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy Doyle, of Atoka, OK. His generous, loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited his Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley Ave., OKC, OK 73131, and Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
