Gary Doornbos

Upon remembering Gary I recalled one time while we were walking into Home Depot on an icy parking lot. He said "Be careful Michael", to which I replied with only the bravado I am capable of, " I haven´t fell on the ice in 30 years! Not one second later I slipped in the ice and found myself on my back, I could hear Gary´s laughter getting closer until he was standing over me with his hands on his knees and said " how would you say, it´s not 30 years anymore!" Then he held out his hand to help...

My time with Gary at Brookcrest was and is my favorite time I’ve ever worked. We laughed so much as we worked side by side. My heart aches with his passing, but am joyful he is with God.

Gary will be greatly missed at brookcrest. His smile and always willing to help.

I only met Gary a couple of times while working at Sunset. I know how hard he worked to serve the residents at Brookcrest and he will be missed. He set a great example for the entire Maintenance team.

Gary was always there with a smile and hello to greet you every day....he was kind and would help you what ever you needed at any time....he truly loved his family...may God bless his family and praying for peace..

To Gary's family,
I was so saddened to hear of Gary's passing. I worked with him at Brookcrest for 8 years. He was always so kind, friendly, and helpful. He spoke of his family often, especially his grandkids! We had a fun rivalry, as I'm an MSU fan. He was always up for making a bet on games. He did lose at least one of the bets, and was a great sport about wearing an MSU shirt. Please accept my deepest condolences. I know he will be greatly missed!

Gray I will always remember you so kind patient funny always willing to help out no matter what daytime night time you where there when we needed you. love hearing about how you talk about your family grandchildren they where so love by you great coworker you will be missed always So sorry to the family my prayers to you all.
