Gary Lee Eby

Gary Lee Eby, 67, of Rural Decatur, passed away at 3:20 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in St. Mary's Hospital. A service to celebrate Gary's life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday morning until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Gary was born June 28, 1946 in Sikeston, MO the son of Louis and Ruby (Grissom) Eby. Gary worked as a boilermaker/pipe fitter out of the Local #363. He married Nellie Karen Wilson on January 23, 1973. He enjoyed antique cars, fishing and many other outdoor activities. Surviving is his wife: Karen of Decatur; mother: Ruby Eby of Decatur; children: Robin Laswell and her husband Michael of Rougemont, NC, Ellie Whelton and her husband James of Dracut, MA, Scott Perry of Decatur, and Brenda Eby-Summers and of Decatur; grandchildren: Kayla E. Summers, Ashleigh Summers, Chad Laswell, Nicole Laswell, Jack Whelton, and Emily Whelton; great grandson: Brayden Lee Summers. He was preceded in death by his father.
