Sanders Funeral Home - Smithfield Obituary

After a strong and fearless fight, God called Gary Edmundson to His eternal rest on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Johnston UNC Health Hospital in Smithfield, NC. Gary Edmundson was born January 30, 1968, in Micro, NC to the late JamesEdmundson and Beatrice Stewart Edmundson. Gary received his early education from Micro Elementary School and received his high school diploma from North Johnston High School in Kenly, NC. Gary had many talents, learned many trades, and worked various jobs including auto/truck mechanic (self-taught), truck driver, forklift operator, cook, mover, landscaper, etc. Gary Edmundson grew up in Warren's Chapel OFWB Church. As an adult, he received salvation, was baptized, and was a member of Warren's Chapel OFWBChurch. Gary loved reading/studying the Bible, participating in Bible study, singing, and sharing the gospel. Gary persevered through his recent medical issues by encouraging and ministering to others. During his hospital stays, his voice was heard up/down the hallways praying and singing gospel songs LOUDLY. He ministered to the medical doctors, the hospital staff, and others. Gary's favorite past-times included spending time laughing with family/friends and cooking on the grill (with his secret ingredients). He loved spending time with his nephews (Brian, Michael, and Marlon) while tinkering, repairing, riding, or driving the big rigs! His best friends/buddies included Lewis Pearce, Eric Frazier, and others. We ALL Love and Miss Gary but he will not be forgotten! His great memories will live on in the hearts of his children, family, friends, and the Micro /Kenly community.
