Gabriel, Gary Lee Age 73, of Alexandria and formerly of Plymouth, died 4/12/09. Former owner of DeMars-Gabriel Land Surveying Company. Funeral service Thursday 4/16 at 11 AM from Calvary Lutheran Church, Alexandria. Visitation 4-7 PM on Wednesday 4/15 at Anderson FH, Alexandria. Twenty four years ago, the ice viewed from the North shore of Halstead Bay was almost gone and Gary was showing me how to retrace a boundary line. I was amazed that he seemed to find pinch tops with the toe of his boot. Back then he taught me how to cut brush at an angle and avoid stricking myself with a machete, whip a chain and hold its' rat tail lightly in case it hung up, and hold objects with my knuckels down. In the decade he was my employer I was privilaged to use him as a respected...
