Gary Griffin
October 18, 1964-June 22, 2019
DAVENPORT, IA A celebration of life for Gary Griffin, 54, of Davenport, will be Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Beach Pub in Buffalo, Iowa. Gary passed away on May 27, 2019 at his home in Davenport.
Gary Eugene Griffin was born on October 18, 1964 in Davenport, the son of Larry and Nancy (Teel) Griffin. He married Tracy Keppy in September 2003. He worked at Linwood Mining & Mineral for 17 years, also at the Scott County Recycling Center for 8 years and recently he worked maintenance for RiverStone in Cordova, IL.
Gary was larger than life. He had a big heart and helped anyone who needed it. He never met a stranger, in fact made friends wherever he traveled. His sense of humor brightened many lives.
He loved golfing, hunting, biking, kayaking and spending time with family and friends. Gary was a bargain hunter and always got his money's worth! Gary was creative, he combined hunting and woodworking to make unique pieces of art and happily gave them to family and friends. He even created a ground blind from an old outhouse! His smile and laughter will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Tracy of Davenport; father, Larry Griffin (Kathy Rasnic) of Blue Grass; brother, Tim (Raquel) Griffin of Blue Grass; sister, Shari (Jim) Rollason of Andalusia, IL; sister in-law, Angi (Doug Horsfield) of Long Grove; brother-in-laws, Todd (Jeanette) Keppy of Lakemoor, IL, Brian Keppy of Long Grove; father-in-law, Dave (Char) Keppy of Donahue; daughter, Elizabeth and her two children; and 10 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents and an infant brother and sister.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
