Gary Grimes, 84, of Camden, AR, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at his home. He was born April 1, 1939, in Malden, MO. He was the son of the late Leonard and Forrest McConnell Grimes. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and retired District Maintenance Engineer with the Arkansas Department of Transportation.


He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronnie Grimes; wife, Claramay Grimes.    


He is survived by his wife, Brenda Grimes of Camden, AR; daughter, Jill Christine Grimes of McKinney, TX; two sons, Andrew Grimes of Dallas, TX and Timothy Grimes and wife, Tracy of Chapel Hill, TN; two step-sons, Chad Daniel and wife, Amy of Paris, TX and Casey Daniel and wife, Shanda of Little Rock, AR; sister, Sharon Perry of Poplar Bluff, MO; grandchildren, Audra Bell and husband, Noah of Franklin, TN, Ethan Grimes and wife, Emily of Salida, CO,  Maddy Fairley of Ada, OK, Amelia Fairley of Bridgewater, NJ; great-grandchild, Blaize Fairley of Bridgewater, NJ; step-grandchildren, Paul Daniel of Paris, TX, Laura Daniel of Ruston, LA and Joseph Daniel of Paris, TX.


Visitation will be 1:00-2:00PM Monday, October 9, 2023, at First United Methodist Church, Camden, AR. Funeral service will be 2:00PM Monday, October 9, 2023, at First United Methodist Church, Camden, AR. Graveside service will be 3:00PM Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Malden, MO. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Brenda, so sorry to hear about Garry. I know he will be missed by so many. I enjoyed working with him for many years.

Gary is brother of a very good friend of our family for many years, Sharon Perry. Love and prayers for all the family.

My brother in law Gary was a great Christian man and brother. I will miss him greatly. Probably one of the kindest persons I have ever met. He was so good to my sister in law Brenda and our family. Great rewards are waiting for him in heaven.

Brenda and family , so sorry to hear of Gary’s passing , he was a faithful member of our men’s prayer breakfast for years at FMC and I valued his friendship and his Christian ministry to me as a fellow walk to amass colegue, I shall never forget his inspirational morning devotions as he was a true man of God . We enjoyed many wed morning get togeathers that I always looked forward to. Gods peace to u, Grace Jerry Rowland.
