Gary at a McKinley event

I was deeply saddened to hear of Gary's passing. I have known Gary for almost 20 years, and considered him a dear friend. He was such a kind and caring person. He volunteered for many years at McKinley Children's Center, serving as chair of our Board to mentors for the children in our care. He will be greatly missed! We are planning on putting a memorial tile up in his memory and would like to get in touch with the family. If anyone has contact information, please email me at...

Gary helped me immensely in writing my book on the Jazz Man Record Shop. I am very, very sorry to read of his passing. He was a wonderful man and I was privileged to be his friend.

Gary served as the Chairman of the Board for McKinley Children's Center. I am the CFO there and really enjoyed working with Gary. He had genuine concern for the facility and the children we cared for. He actually told me about some of those roads less traveled when I was going on a vacation around Zion and the Grand Canyon. They worked and we saw a lot of wild life that we would not have seen if we went on the normal routes. Anyone who worked with Gary will know how much he will be missed. A...

Gary was a very kind man with a big heart for the community. I knew him through both the United Way and the Red Cross. I was very sad to hear this news.

Gary & I worked together- rather successfully at United Way Los Angeles. We've been friends for years. I'm very sadden to hear of his passing.

Gary was our neighbor in Hacienda Heights and our friendship remained strong after we moved out of state. We miss him very much. We spoke at least once a week. And to Gary, "hope you are enjoying your beloved desert now. I'll take your place in Waldo's" We love and miss you. Our sincere condolences to John, his family and his family in Utah and to all his many friends. We are sure you all miss him, as we do.<3
