I will forever miss Gary because we shared so many funny stories and wrote about life almost daily. He was a kind and compassionate man and always brought his best to the conversation. I learned we both quit smoking and drinking and we both love animals. Gary was wise and always tried to be positive and he had many talents beyond politics and plumbing. I grew to appreciate Gary much more over the years. Even when we disagreed we were always able to come back to respect and friendship. I look back and really appreciate all the good things that Gary did. The Peninsula Crossing Trail is an example of something he played a large role in completing (with Pam Arden).
