Not sure what to say?

I was so fortunate to have met Judge Gary Herman during a stay at Riders Inn. He was such a kind and brilliant person, welcoming and insightful. Reading of his accomplishments, I was in awe of his talents as he was such a humble person for someone so well-experienced in so many areas of life. This world genuinely is a better person for him being in it. I send my warmest thoughts to his beloved wife Elaine and family, to Judge Herman's family and friends and to those fortunate to have met him...

Hard to believe it’s been 2 years already! A favorite memory of mine is Gary & his sister Michelle coming over to our cottage (we were Middle Bass neighbors for almost 30 years) after dinner. Gary proudly brought some of his homemade wine! We laughed, shared memories & laughed even harder!! Michelle said how happy our parents would be if they saw us now together still enjoying what they started!! We really miss him!

Judge Herman treated me fairly and with compassion and gave me more chances than I probably deserved but due to his faith in me I was able to live a good life. I'm forever grateful.

Gary's wisdom and work ethic were always an inspiration. My deepest sympathies.

Dear Elaine,

It hurts my heart to hear of Gary's passing. He most obviously was respected by his peers, loved by his family, and he made friends wherever he went. This world was so blessed to have a man of his caliber among us. It's so hard to find the words of the right magnitude to tell of how great a loss this is of such a strong, just, dear and kind man.

From my heart to yours,

Judge Herman

Farewell to a good and kind man and fair and compassionate judge. The world is a better place because of you. Thank you for your contribution to Ohio's judicial system. Look forward to seeing you in heaven where we all hope to be someday.

Judge Herman helped me when I first took the bench. He helped me out on many occasions when I had a conflict or had a question.
He was a fair and kind Judge and man. He will be missed. Jim Scheer

Though I never met Judge Herman I admire his love of justice and law. "What is God requiring of you? Only to exercise justice...." Micah 6:8 My condolences to you.

My deepest condolences to Gary's family and other loved ones. Gary was a Wapakoneta icon who will be missed by all who knew him.
