Mountain View Funeral Home Obituary

Mr. Gary Lee Hogsed, age 71 of Possum Trot Road, Blairsville, formerly of Mill Valley, CA., passed away peacefully on Saturday July 3, 2021 at his home following a brief illness. Gary was born on April 21, 1950 in Murphy, NC., son of the late Ralph Leonard Hogsed & Evelyn Norma Smith. Gary loved the great outdoors; whether it was hunting, fishing, or spending time with his beloved family. He dearly enjoyed nature’s great beauty. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and uncle. Gary’s family was definitely the light of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents. Gary attended Harmony Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife; Ginny Hogsed of Blairsville, three sons & a daughter-in-law; Christopher & Nicole Hogsed of Acworth, GA., Wesley Gibson of Blairsville, Clifford Gibson of Porterdale, GA., sister & brother-in-law; Sharon & John Archanbault of Blairsville, brother & sister-in-law; Ricky & Deborah Hogsed of Marietta, sister & brother-in-law; Lisa & Gary Butler of Blairsville, two grandchildren; Brandon Hogsed & Alyssa Hogsed, special nieces & nephews; James Ezell, Ricky, Jonathan, and Skye Butler, and several great-nieces & nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to help defray expenses in Gary’s memory.
