We feel so fortunate to have known Gary. We enjoyed sharing stories about university teaching. His smile, laugh, kindness, and gentle manner will be missed. We send our sincerest sympathy to Colleen and their entire family.

Condolences and prayers for the entire family and friends. Gary was the epitome of “the quiet man,” one we should strive to be.

I am saddened to hear this news. Gary was a great neighbor and fellow parishioner at St. Francis who always gave me encouragement as I began my teaching career and had a kind thing to say as we came and went from our homes. To all 3 generations of Klinglers who have lived across the street, I am so sorry for your loss.

He was a kind and wise professor. I would have never made it through statistics without him. I did not know that he was a Christian until I read this. However, now that I look back and see his compassion for me and others, his patience and his smile through it all; I should have known. He really was a great person and teacher. My prayers to the family.
