Not sure what to say?

So sorry to hear of Mr. Leavel's passing. I hadn't kept up with him since high school but he was my government teacher at Louisa County High School. He even attended my wedding. He was a great man. Prayers for comfort for his family.

Mr. Leavel taught me government at Louisa County High School in 1974. He was a very good teacher. My fondest memory of him was referring to the government book as "The bible" and it touched a nerve with one of my classmates. So very sorry to hear of his passing. Regards, Armistine Mallory Class of 1974, LCHS

I have sparse but fond memories of Gary; sorry to hear of his passing.

We have lived on Lockesley for 38 years as neighbors of Gary. He will be remembered for his kindness and diplomacy. He made sure our neighborhood was both safe and peaceful as well as aesthetic. Gary had ornamental trees planted and an attractive retaining wall built on our street. He was very knowledgeable about current events and we always enjoyed talking to him. Our condolences to his family. He will be missed.

The Sherwood Manor Co has lost an icon . He was a dedicated member of the community . and will be treasured in our hearts forever

We lived in Sherwood Manor on Lockesley Terrace for over 35 years but moved out of the area in 2020. Gary was a dependable association board member and was known to slowly drive around the neighborhood streets to keep an eye on things, even after he had mobility issues. We enjoyed talking to him and are sorry to hear of his death.

I worked with Gary at Newcomb hall Bookstore. He loved his job, he loved working with the students. He will be missed. I will keep the family in my prayers.

I worked with Gary at the University of Virginia Bookstore he was a very gppd friend and he will be missed. My prayers are with his family.
