Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Lederman, Gary, passed away, Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the age of 74.

Beloved husband for 33 years of Lesley Lederman (nee Maness). Loving father of Chris (Vicky) Lederman, Matt (Alexandra) Lederman, and Katie (James) Baxter. Cherished grandfather of Anna, George, and Catherine Lederman, Nick Kreitler and Haley (Dustin) Potts. Great-grandfather of Gavin Potts. Dear brother of Judy Waller and Jeff (Heidi) Lederman. Dear uncle and friend of many. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Kathleen Lederman (nee Olander).

Born in West Hempstead, NY to Bert and Kay Lederman, Gary’s early years included domestic and international adventure and travel alongside his siblings given his father’s career in the United States Air Force. After graduating from Mascoutah High School in Mascoutah, IL, Gary attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley where he earned a degree in Business. At 24, Gary moved to St. Louis, MO for a job opportunity with General Credit Forms, Inc.. (GCF). After helping GCF and his mentor, Joe McCormick, grow the business for 43-years, Gary retired at 67 to spend more time with his wife of 33-years, Lesley, his family, and of course tirelessly pursuing his love of golf. He cherished his family and friends locally, in Colorado, and beyond. He dutifully sought out and attended his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, recitals, and graduations. He was frugal and, at the same time, generous in so many ways. He was secretly meticulous and impressively organized. He was a rock solid backstop for many. He was fancy enough when required but ultimately he simply loved spending time in one’s company, sharing a drink, a story, and a serious laugh along the way. Gary Robert Lederman; missed always and loved forever.

Services: Celebration of Gary's life will be held Saturday, July 9th 2022 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Whitmoor Country Club. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis. As a service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory friends may sign the family’s on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

Not sure what to say?

Lesley and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers for peace are with you.

Dear Gary, Tim and I, Bridget Leinauer have so many fond memories of you...Wineries . RIP Gary, you are Loved.

Gary was such a great guy. His love for and his commitment and dedication to his family were his biggest priorities. He was so very proud of each of his children and grandchildren and he enjoyed them so very much. Lesley, he loved you so much too!. The fun times we had in St. Louis and on our trips together will always be some of our favorite memories. His sense of humor was wonderful; his love of music was fun too. We liked some of the same music. I still expect to hear him in the...

I did'nt know Mr. Gary but, I do know his daughter Mrs.Baxter, who is a very respectful young lady and great teacher. We're praying for you and your family doing this time . May the peace of God remain with your family.

I worked with Gary for over 35 years at General Credit Forms we had many good times together with Gary and Rick Pollack at company functions. I am sure I wouldn’t have stay there as long as I did if it wasn’t for Gary and a few other people, we became one big family. You will be missed my friend

Gary was a WONDERFUL man. I am honored to say Gary was my boss at General Credit Forms and was the best boss anyone could ever ask for. He taught me so much about the work we did and was happy to. He also taught me how to play black jack with a tiny little purple deck of cards. I can hear him laughing now and asking what kind of cards are these? He just laughed and said you might win in Vegas, but they use "real" cards. Respect is what you gave Gary because of the type person he was. ...

Gary, I can’t truly express how much I will miss our time together and your friendship. You were always there to give me support and encouragement when I was dealing with my physical ailments. You’ll always be remembered as one of my all time favorite people. I will miss our friendship and the great times we shared, especially the frustrating ones when trying to improve our golf games together.

Gary you were my best friend. We shared the good and not so good. You helped me fight my cancers and get back to playing the game we both enjoyed so much. I will always cherish the memories of the time we spent together and your friendship. You will be missed but never forgotten.
Your golfing buddy,
Ed
