Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USN aboard the destroyer USS Laffey(DD 724) during the Cold War when it served on deployments in the Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf-many Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow Sailors stood ready. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
