Gary "Bear" Little Dog

Funeral services for Gary "Bear" Little Dog, 57, of Little Eagle, will be Friday, Aug. 24 at 11:00 AM, CDT, at the Little Eagle Blue Gym. Burial follows at St. Paul's Episcopal Cemetery, Little Eagle. We will leave Stout Family Funeral Home in Mobridge at 5:00PM Thursday in procession to Little Eagle for wake services beginning at 7:00PM, ending at 12 Midnight. Gary entered the spirit world August 14, 2012 in Mobridge. www.stoutfamilyfh.com Gary "Bear" Little Dog was born May 24, 1955 in Fort Yates, ND to Ross and Phoebe (Lawrence) Little Dog. Gary grew up in Little Eagle, SD where he attended Little Eagle Day School. He graduated from Ft. Yates High School and went on to attend schooling for Automotive Technology, Business Administration, Computer Training, Dept of Criminal Investigations and Law Enforcement. He served in the U S Army from 1976 to 1978 and was honorably discharged. Gary worked as a police officer with the Bureau of Indian Affairs on the Standing Rock and Cheyenne River Reservations. He also worked as a law enforcement instructor and was a marksman. Gary worked as an auto parts manager in Rapid City, SD, a semi-truck trailer operator, an auto technician at Arrowhead Motors and as a self-employed auto technician. Gary is survived by his special friend Martha Cameron; daughters, Salli (Tom) McCarty, Bismarck, ND, Hatti (Vern) Miner, Wagner, SD, Gayla (Wayne) Campbell, Mandan, ND, Jolene (Jordan) Eagle Chasing, Bismarck, ND and Cassidy Wells, Carson, ND; son, Sean Wells; brothers, Dean Little Dog, Jr. (Jeannie), Rapid City, SD, Blair "Mick" Little Dog, Sr. (Deamarr "Mouse"), Cutbank, MT, Steve (Donna) Thompson, Little Eagle, SD and Edwin Brown, McLaughlin, SD; sister: Elverda "Skiggee" Little Dog (Lee), Mobridge, SD; grandchildren: Reuben & Ashyna Little Dog, Jamila, Kobe, Vern Jr., Priest, Declan, De'Ambria', Emi & Dante Miner, Dazlynn & Phoebe Campbell, Melee Eagle Chasing, Anjelic Cameron and Jeremy Dennis; grandfather, Lyle Noisy Hawk; nieces and nephews: Diandra & Shonnee Little Dog, Benjamin, Blair, Che' and Jayden Little Dog, Maurice Yellow Earrings, Howard, Tony Jr., Lorenzo and Evan Bobtail Bear, Ira, Clyde and Inyan Weasel, Titus, Dewey, Stewart, Leroy, Donald, Eric and Chat Bobtail Bear, Frankie and O'Neil Iron Cloud, Eyokpe End of Horn, Leslie Hanson, Lorencia White, Loren, Tabitha and Lelani Henry, Valencia and Lucinda Bobtail Bear, Jennifer, Cheyenne and Chloe Weasel, William and Holden Thompson. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Ross Dean Little Dog, Sr.; mother, Phoebe Hattie (Lawrence) Little Dog; brother, Orlie Lynus Little Dog and a daughter, Cary Spotted Horse.
