Happen to get my Tulane Alumni magazine and was disappointed not to see any references to his many achievements in the publication.

Gary served as a mentor and champion for my career. We first met when he was in Geneva working on HIV/AIDS programs for the World Health Organization. Always supportive, amiable and someone to always learn from he is missed as one of the pioneers in so many ways. Nathan Linsk

My family first met Gary when he a Hugh lived in River Ridge. My parents and they were life long friends. They would visit when we lived in Europe. We celebrated Christmas at their house on Audubon street and later on St. Philip. Gary was an awesome man. He will be missed.

He was quite a special person and long time friend and advisor, later working with him when he was at San Jose State University and with the National Social Work and AIDS task force. Always appreciated his and Mike's hospitality during my visits to NO, and long distance chats. A rich legacy and a major advocate for social work. As a friend too he will be missed.
