Not sure what to say?

It is ironic how you can be so close to someone for a time and then life moves on. Gary was a friend and mentor. I did not realize the impact he had on my life until much later, when I was no longer in touch. And now it is too late to thank him.

My prayers go out to his family.

I am saddened to hear today of Gary's passing last July. Although we have not had much contact since our Stevens days, I did speak to him via e-mail in the past few years and he sounded very happy and very proud of his family and children. I have many very fond memories of Gary and will always be grateful for his spirit, his guidance and his motivation in our freshman year. God Bless Gary and his family!

Loftus family,
I just heard through the Stevens Indicator the sad news of Gary's passing. We were good friends on campus (through Sigma Nu) and after I graduated in 1978 and continued to live in Hoboken.

He was a good, kind man, a gentle giant always with a twinkle in his eye. I've always wished we'd stayed in contact, a wish that will remain unfulfilled now that he's left us.

Please accept my sincere sympathy through this trying passage.

I only just heard of Gary's accident. I worked for and with Gary for 8 years (85-93) at Chandler Evans. He gave me some freedom and opportunities early on to try some things that set the foundation for my whole career. Even though he was only a couple of years older than I was I learned a great deal from him. There are always a couple of people along the way in ones life that make a big difference. Gary was one of those for me. A few years ago I sent him a note thanking him for his help...

Dear Loftus Family,

I was fortunate to work for Gary twice over. Yes - he hired me back. He was very fair and honest. He will be sadly missed. My prayers and thoughts go out to the entire family.

Dear Pat, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God bless you, Peggy McGinley
