We sure will miss you Gary. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Richard Johnson

Thank you for your giving caring heart and soul! Thank you for helping me also! Will be praying for your family.

Thank you for being a Mentor and Shinning example Chief. Though life events and work have taken my time away from the fire service, I will carry with me so many things and so many memories. Thank you for all the laughs,
I'll certainly never forget you Gary. My heart breaks for your family, for the Department, and for our Community.
God Speed. It was an honor to serve along side of you at the greatest Fire Department.

Served with Gary in the East Bend Fire Department in the early 1970s. Helped his dad prime tobacco for years.
Gary was a great teacher and leader. He will be greatly missed by all.

Today's service was wonderful and for a very deserving man. Gary was the prime example of loving thy neighbor as thy self. He will be greatly missed!

As a neighbor for the past 6 yrs I will fight my own tears as it seems just like yesterday I hugged his neck not too long ago. I can't imagine what each of you must be feeling. I wish I could've been there to pay my respects as Gary ensured my families safety by making sure we had an appropriate amount of fire...
