Gary Massoni

Dear Family of Gary Massoni--Betty, Gina, Dara, Kai, Rowan, Rose--as one of Gary's Napa High School classmates, I am so sorry to hear about his passing away from illness.
I last saw Gary in 1960; I last talked to Gary in December 2010 by phone. In our Senior year we shared a class in Trigonometry and Solid Geometry, taught by Ms Sarah Lynch. Gary sat in the front and was a leader. He often had a smile!

Gary and Betty Massoni were supporters of farm worker families over many years, especially to improve wages, working conditions and gain a voice in the workplace through collective bargaining and union contracts. In 1985 Gary was a co-founder of Oregon Farm Worker Ministry which become Farm Worker Ministry Northwest, member of National Farm Worker Ministry linking the faith and farm worker communities. Gary Massoni fought for peace & freedom his whole life, from Selma to the Jesse Jackson presidential campaigns to his church work with Betty. He was a friend to so many of us & a freedom fighter. Ill miss him.
