Mary, so sorry to hear of Gary´s passing and I´m sending you and your family love and peace. I´m remembering your lovely home and gardens and Gary´s dedication, pride and joy of all of it. If there was ever a couple to bleed maize and blue- it was Mary and Gary! His love of the game of golf and the many hours you enjoyed time together on the golf course is another happy memory. I think of Gary every time I see a movie about Vietnam, and Gary describing to me, his very dangerous trips...

Dr. Maynard was a kind, caring and excellent anesthesiologist. I began working as an RN in the operating room at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo in 1975 and always enjoyed it when we were assigned to the same OR cases. He gave everyone a sense of confidence in his abilities, yet was always humble and respectful. He had high standards and was always calm in a crisis. Gary was a kind man and treated the children at the Family Learning Institute with respect while teaching them reading skills. He spent many years with FLI and helped it grow to become the respected non-profit that it is today. He will be missed. Laura Conlin
