Gary Wayne McKee, born on January 2, 1952 in Pittsburg, California, to the late Irene Workman and the late Billy McKee, passed away at age 66 on August 13, 2018 in Antioch, California. He attended school at Pittsburg High.Gary was also proud to be part of the famous Pop Warner National Football Team: The Pittsburg Mallards of 1963. The Mallards football champions went undefeated, untied, and unscored upon including their championship game in Philadelphia against the undefeated Mayfair Athletic club team. They held their opponents to negative yardage (-149) for the entire season. Gary also loved sports. He spent high school years wrestling and playing football for Pittsburg High School. Pittsburg High was also where he met the love of his life, Barbara Barnett. Gary and Barbie spent 49 beautiful years together. Gary was a superintendent in the Oil Refinery industry, but was known for his sense of adventure. He truly lived life to the fullest with the people he loved most by his side. He was happiest when he was camping at Turlock, white water rafting, or traveling with his family. His greatest passion in life was seeing the joy on everyone's face by playing Santa. He was known around the neighborhood as "Our Santa". For 2 decades, Gary decorated his houses on Hillside ave at Christmas time. Gary made all of his decorations himself, as each creation representing a part of his family.Santa came out nightly for two weeks, freely handing out toys and candy canes to all the kids and adults who showed up. Gary was preceded in death by his daughters, Karen McKee and Jamie Ramirez; and dog, Sparky. Gary is survived by his daughters, Lauri (Josh) Vint and Dana (Brad) McKee; brothers, Billy (Kay) McKee, Michael (Marsha) McKee. As close as siblings, Rick Barnett, Sharon (Les) Barnes, Janie (Ron) Goodner, Patti Cox, and Sandy (Randy) Koehne; and grandchildren, Rachel (Luis) Aviles, Barbara Ramirez, Gary Ramirez, Richard Coleman, Jasmine Vint, Joseph Vint, Zachary McKee, Samantha McKee, Dracius McKee, and Izaiah Barnett; great-grandchildren Luis, Liliana, Jackie, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Not sure what to say?

I can't believe it's been 4 years already.I still miss you and I will love you forever. Our family will never be the same, and I can't wait till I can see you again.

This has been the longest and hardest year of my life. We had some hard times but we always had each other and now you are gone. You're the one who could always make me feel better with a smile or a hug. You always knew what to do and now you're the one I can't talk to you. I love you Honey.wait for me, I'll see you soon.

Hi Honey, I haven't posted here because every time I try I cry so hard I can't see to type and my feels like it's bleeding, but here goes. I am so grateful for the 50 years we had together. We had so many good times and we laughed so much together. We were a team and we worked so well together. I never regretted getting married so young, it just seemed right. Today is the 10th anniversary of the day we lost Jamie and I realised how much you helped me through that awful time I wish I had you...

Gary loved camping and river rafting.

He was a mechanical genius and a natural leader.

Also, he was the best athlete and strongest man I ever met.

My two stories about Gary are about his athletics at Pitt High:

Our football team in 1968 won the DVAL Championship. On the team were only Seniors starting - except for Gary. As a sophomore(!), he started both ways on Offense and Defense: Center and Nose Tackle.

But his wrestling was even more spectacular: his...
