Riverside Funeral Home Obituary

Gary Mitchell was born in Floydada, Texas, December 21, 1949 to Henry Lee Patterson and Mildred Mitchell. At an early age Gary?s family moved to Albuquerque, NM where he attended Eugene Field Elementary, Lincoln Junior High and Albuquerque High School. After High School Gary pursued a lifestyle that led him to Farmington, NM. Several years later he returned to Albuquerque and became proprietor of ?Gary?s Game Room?. That entrepreneur venture motivated Gary to enroll in Franklin Business College where he obtained a degree in Business Administration. On May 9, 1991 Gary pledged his life to Christ in Amarillo, Texas under Pastor Demerson. He also studied under Bishop TD Jakes in Dallas, Texas. Upon his return to Albuquerque in 1992 Gary became ordained by Bishop John Hill of God?s Way Church. Gary Mitchell started his ministry, ?House of Refuge?, located on San Mateo and Kathryn SE, where he could minister to the least, the lost and the left out! There he served until God called him home! Gary?s father, Henry Lee Patterson and Gary?s maternal grandmother, Juanita Mitchell precedes him in death. He leaves his mother, Mildred Williamson; his son, Michael Dawes; his daughter, Tiffany Fletcher; his sisters, Carolyn Jabaria and Mildred Mitchell; along with his Aunt, cousins, a host of relatives and friends. Acts 17:31?For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed?? Gary?s going home service will be celebrated on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM, at the Riverside Funeral Home Chapel, located at225 San Mateo Blvd. NE in Albuquerque, NM.
