Gary Nickoloff, 71
March 28, 1953 - February 1, 2025


Gary passed away at The Ranch Estates in Tucson, AZ.


He graduated from Atherton High School in 1971.


In 1972 he started working for GM at Fisher Body until it closed in 1987 at which time he transferred to Saginaw Steering Gear. Later he worked at Saginaw Metal Casting where he operated a 75,000lb aluminum furnace that poured straight six engines until he retired in 2006.


He was a member of the Saginaw Field and Stream Gun Club, Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter #77, and Shiawassee HOG Chapter #3271 where he also served as Chapter Director from 2010-2020. 


At one time he owned and piloted a Piper Cherokee 140 Airplane and raced a Jeep named Devilish Thoughts. He enjoyed riding his Harley, line dancing, and volunteering at his church, St. Charles and Helena Catholic Church. He was also an Amateur Radio Operator, call sign KA8NJO, since 1984.


He is survived by his sister, Susan Heiman, his daughters, Lisa (David) Landis and Tara (Jason) Schatzer, and son, Michael Nickoloff; grandchildren, Lauryn Gormaly, David Landis, Jr., Liam, Lyanna, and Luna Schatzer; many nieces and nephews.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Elaine Nickoloff, and older brother, Steve Nickoloff.
