Not sure what to say?

Dear Melinda, I hope this last year has been good to you, especially today, when the calendar reminds of the ups and downs we must experience if we are to try and take hold of all that has past. I think about you quite often and hope you are not feeling the immediate pain on losing Gary. As for myself, I have found a deep love again with my dog and my garden. It's a wonderful way to live out my twilight years and I wish the same sense of peace and love that makes life a good place to be. ...

Melinda, I just found this via a search for your name, so sorry, my condolences. I was your student at MSU 83 - 86. I remember you and Gary took me to Perkins once after I helped you with some plans for your house. I can still recall sitting in your backseat talking with you and Gary and dining with you and Gary. Although I didn't know Gary well, when you are starving art student, you will always remember who fed you.

Melinda ... we never met but I have many fond memories of good times with Gary having gone to grade school, scout camp and high school together. Whether it was hiking, canoe trips, James Bond movies, pizza at Joes or a road trip to Woodstock (a week too late) Gary was always a great guy to share an adventure. After college we lost contact but our mothers would meet at church occassionally and I'd have a new Gary story to listen to . . . the best one I can remember is Mrs Pascuzzo being...

Dear sweet Melinda, I'm late in learning that Gary, your soulmate, a man you always had nothing but wonderful things to say about, has shed this mortal coil. Though I did not know Gary, I feel like you are a truly kind and beautiful person which tells me that you wouldn't share your life with someone unless he gave as much love to you, as you do for him.

OMG, I didn't think there were any condolences--I kept looking at the empty space at the bottom of the obit and thinking how sad no one had anything to say. So I decided to say how desperately I miss him, and also how horrible I feel for what *he* went through. I clicked to start, and lo and behold, here are some wonderful comments. Thank you all for everything. Love from Melinda

It's funny how I can't get Gary's smiling face and laugh out of my mind, Mel. I think I will always remember him that way. Tony & I are still in shock from his sudden passing and our hearts and prayers go out to you and Gary's many family members and friends. Peace be with you, Dear Heart.

Melinda, please know that Wayne and I are thinking of you at this difficult time. Sending much love to you, and hope that your memories of your dear loved one will comfort you in the days to come.

Melinda, I am so terribly sorry to hear of your loss. All of my love and support goes out to you and your family. You will be in my prayers.

It is always hard to find the words, when someone, who is both loved and was loving departs. The void Gary leaves behind can never be filled. But we have our memories of him to sustain us during the difficult days ahead. There can be no doubt Melinda, that Gary loved you, and you he. That bond will never be broken and you are bound together forever. A massive loss, but never a love lost. You and Gary are in our thoughts, Melinda.
