Not sure what to say?

Gary was a fraternity brother of mine in Kappa Alpha at Stanford. We loved watching him play football, and he was a very helpful brother. The bro have been sharing stories all day. We miss you big guy.

I will never forget our time together when you played for the Eagles. Our group Steve, MT and me. And thank you for building the house on Big Rock for me. It was fun and I did love you. Rest in peace Gary dearest one.

I wish you were here to discuss this article with me today. You would have loved it. Gary spent the night at our family home when I was 10 yrs old or so. The following morning he taught us the joy of bloody eggs. A breakfast I still enjoy. A few years later while walking to school, the bully that had often intimidated me was at it again. Gary came around the corner, saw the situation, and ran right at the bully. He ran away and never bothered me again. Thanks, Gary. Roger

Pattie, I am so sorry for your loss, thinking of you. Alethea McCann

As a child of the sixties, I had an admiration for defensive linemen in the NFL. Gary Pettigrew was one of my favorites if not my favorite lineman. A great human being and love by his fans because of his benevolence and great humanitarian off the field. Rest in Peace

I was 2 years behind Gary at Gonzaga Prep, and got to know this remarkable man through sports. To me, he was a part of our school´s infrastructure. Not only physically superior, he was a rare combination of athleticism, intelligence, maturity, energy, integrity, positive attitude and high moral character. After his pro career, I would see him in Spokane, where he was a local hero. He was always approachable, friendly and engaging when we visited - and he looked great as a trimmed-down...

Many of us would have liked to have been known as a Renaissance guy, the multitalented Gary was the reason deal
