Dearest Clydeen and family, you have been in my thoughts and prayers since learning of Gary’s end of life on earth. I always loved when we all were together at family gatherings and you and Gary always brought loving and fun energy to the events. You two created so many wonderful memories together and a beautiful family. May you all find these treasured times comforting and healing for your broken hearts. Much love, Elisa & Jay.

Dear Clydeen and family: Pat and I were greatly saddened by the news of Gary´s passing. We are sure he must have fought the good fight against cancer, but the end is never easy. We understand that any one of us faced with this loss feels that a part of them also is has been lost. I remember well gathering with the both of you at Paul Hogan´s place with gin fizzes and going to the 49er games at Kezar, a number of memorable road trips with Gary, and running into him in the financial district...

Gary Phillips is the most solid person I know, and solid is my highest compliment! We worked, played and once-a-weekend lunch together on Henry Huang. Although we didn´t spend much physical time together since both retiring, there is not a day goes by that I don´t think of him, which always brings a smile. All the best my man; see ya on the other side. PLJC! PWPH
