Garry and I worked together at the Union Pacific Railroad. Garry and I spent many long hours on noisy Locomotives sharing story's about hunting, fishing,home improvements and most importantly our family's. Gary,Karen,my husband Donny, and I were Friends the last few years. Shared a lot of good family times with our grandchildren, and girls. So thankful for the memories. I know Gary only through his wife's and my husband's stories shared during our mutual journeys on the dementia road. It was in a support group.
This is how it works. The leader who has the condition, family members and friends of the leader along the dementia road have stories. In the telling to each other we gain strength. At times there is a measure of peace that makes it possible to hold.
