October 17, 1981 – October 21, 1997 Ten years ago today, we lost our firstborn son. We celebrated his 16th birthday four days prior. He was so happy that day! We had a small party for him that gave him great joy. We were going to enroll him in driver's education that week, but a terrible...

Thank you for the wonderful recollection and poem about Dean. I do not know how Gary and Cindy coped with losing a son the way they did...I'm not sure I would have pulled through...their strength from that through today is truly an inspiration. Jake too, handled losing his brother in a most stoic manner- Gary and Cindy should be very proud of him. You all are thought about by myself and my family very often---especially the tragedy that you dealt with. I wish there was a way for me to...

I too can say not a day goes by that I don't think of Dean. I have lots of wonders in my mind, like what would Dean be doing today or what would he be working on or building today if he were still on earth with us. My heart just cries and aches, especially when I think of the day Dean was taken from us. I can remember exactly what I was doing, who called to tell me Dean had been in a terrible accident and all the pain I saw and felt that night at the hospital. I often relive that night in...

I too lost my beloved son Kris, who was 11 years old and was hit on his cousins bicycle while on vacation with his Dad and brother in Indiana in August of 1994. I feel your loss and pain and share in knowing that it never goes away. Our only blessing is to know that our sons' are in a better place. May God Bless you and your family and may the memory of your lovely Gary warm your empty heart everyday. I know "exactly" how you feel. Believe it rare to come across someone who does. My...

Beautiful poem to remember Gary. I didn't know him, but I live just down the street. I remember when this happened, and thought of him and what you all must be going through every time I passed by the spot where it happened. You certainly have been in my thoughts and prayers all these years. I lost my son at age 11 in 1975 so my heart really goes out to you.
