I met Gary the first day I started working at Quintiles. His desk was next to mine and he became my very good friend and mentor. He was a kind soul and I am blessed to have worked with him and been able to call him a friend. He could always cheer me up with his witty sense of humor. When I felt overwhelmed he would teach me in his very kind way that there wasn't much in life worth stressing about. We could talk about any topic under the sun. One of his favorites was talking about our crazy cats. He touched my life and made it better, both professionally and personally. I will always be grateful.
My sincere condolences to his friends and family.

Gary was my best friend. I know of at least two other people who would say the same. Best complement one could give He was the best man at my Wedding 41 years ago. He pitched and I caught fast pitch softball for 15 years. He was a manager at Mama Mia's restaurant, Danbi's Jazz club and Airbourne Express in Albuquerque. Lately we shared stock, horse race tips and music CDs. He was surprised this fall that I didn't have a will. Dang, guess I better go get one, now.

Dearest Friends and Family of Gary,
I will always remember Gary as one of the sweetest, kindest, humble and intelligent men. I think the most endearing quality Gary possessed was his ability to really listen. You couldn't have a bad day after talking with Gary. He always had a great story or joke and it was all the better when he would tell you with that twinkle in his eyes. RIP dear friend.

Dear Family of Gary,
We came to know Gary over the last several years as one of his research sites out in Nevada. His death has affected us all as we valued him as a professional colleague as well as a friend. From the first time we met him, Gary impressed us not only with his tremendous knowledge but also with his willingness to be a resource for all matters in research. He was always available to us and willing to answer our questions - no matter how trivial. This is truly rare in the research world! We cannot emphasize enough how much he touched our lives and how much he truly will be missed. Our hearts go out to all of you - his family and closest friends. With deepest sympathy, the research team at Renown Institute for Neurosciences, Reno, Nevada

I want to extend my condolences to your family in this time of sorrow. I met Gary when we worked together at Danbi's jazz club in the early 80's, and had been friends ever since. I considered him a brother, and I was fortunate enough to see him recently in California. He will truly be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. He was such a beautiful soul, with such a brilliant mind. I love you Gary, and I will never forget you.

I worked with Gary at Quintiles for 16 years. His musical knowledge and kindness stand out in my memory of him but the most striking thing was his sense of humor- such a dry and smart wit! His ability to make all those around him laugh and smile was a huge gift to us all. He is missed.

I so enjoyed working with Gary over the past 2 1/2 years at Quintiles. He was always so pleasant and willing to help out whenever he could. He always told me stories of his golf rounds and trips to visit his dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Gary will be so very missed.

I've known Gary since he started at Quintiles. He was incredibly smart, humble, and most helpful to all. One of my favorite topics with Gary was to discuss and debate the jazz legends Sarah Vaughan vs. Ella Fitzgerald. The debate is no more as I think he's being serenaded by both of them right now. My prayers are with Gary's family for comfort and peace. Gary was a true gem.

I went to elementary school with Gary at Lovett. We played football together for 3 years and he was the first-string quarterback of our team. Quiet, reserved with an inner confidence you could not dismiss, and a person who took command of a situation by including everyone in the decision making process; everyone's ideas counted. My condolences to his family and my thanks for having known such a special person.
