ROSE, Gary S. – Of Swartz Creek, age 73, died Saturday, April 10, 2021 at his residence.


Private memorial service will be held at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Rick Schmidt officiating.


Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.


Visitation 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the funeral home.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Old Newsboys or McLaren Hospice-Davison, 1515 Cal Drive, Davison, MI 48423.


Gary was born in Flint, Michigan on December 8, 1947, the son of the late Glendon and Shirley (Brown) Rose.


He participated in high school athletics at Central High School in 1967. He was student manager of the Varsity basketball and baseball team.


Gary loved watching sports, deer hunting, NASCAR and driving nice cars. Above all else, Gary enjoyed spending time with his great-nieces.


Mr. Rose was employed for 25 years by Flint Township. His favorite saying at work was "it’s not my job, Jack".


He was very involved in church functions. Gary was a great example of a Christian person.


If you were family, friend of family or church member, Gary was there for you.


Surviving are brother, Wallace E. (Brenda) Rose;


niece, Natalie Rose (John Irvin);


nephews, Michael C. Davis (Lauren Svensson) and Kyle H. (Emily) Davis;


great-nieces, Winnie Irvin and Everlie Davis;


special friends, Bill and Linda Hendricks, Chuck and Carol Cooke.

I new Gary when I worked at McNally's Buick Chevrolet, he always said hi Terry when he brought the township's cars in for service, this was a long time ago but I remember Gary for his smiles and kindness he will be missed!. TerryLaMay Flushing.
