Gary was a friend and a man with principles. He not only thought about what he should do but acted on his beliefs.
We became acquainted when Gary and Charlie rode the bus to work together most days. When our children were young, we joined the Canoe Club and spent time on the Maumee River with Gary, Jan, Liz and Julie. And our friendship continued from there. We will miss him.

Our condolences, Jan, to you and your family. We are so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. What a sweet man....

Jan, we had a long friendship with Gary and many memories over 50 some years. You two had many great adventures. He was one of a kind and did great things for Perrysburg. The only new thing a learned from the obit was that he and I shared the same birthdate. He will be missed.

Samples Family and Friends, you are in our thoughts and prayers. May Almighty God grant you comfort, peace and tender mercies during this time and forever! Please know that Mr. Samples made a profound impact on my life forever. He had a profound way of showing us young men that he cared and wanted us to make the connection between learning and knowledge equals success! *I'm glad many of us Students had the opportunity to come back and tell him. I recall the look on his face when 3 of us...

Jan, please accept my condolences on the passing of Gary. I knew him first when he was a City Councilman and then for many years around town. He was such a nice guy...and so smart.

I recall he and I both received LWV awards together many years ago. I felt so honored to be named at the same time he was.

My daughter Colleen remembers him (and you) as patients in her doctor's office in Maumee. Always spoke very highly of him.

May God Bless you and your...

Gary was always kind and supportive of my recycling efforts at First UM church. He had great ideas and cared about people and keeping Perrysburg clean.
I enjoyed talking to him when I'd see him at the library or out walking.
Rest in Peace Gary

Today and always may loving memories bring you peace, comfort and strength. I feel blessed for having known Gary.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of dear dear Gary. There are stars so far away, we only see their light long after the star is gone. And so it is with people who we loved. Their memories will keep shining ever so brightly long after their time with us is done.
