Not sure what to say?

We met Gary when we lived in Vernonia, Oregon, on Creekview Lane. Walt Self was Gary's Father. We met Walt after his wife, Wanda passed away. He was a dear friend and we would take Walt to church with us. As Walt's health was failing we met Gary, who would come to Vernonia and help his father out in many, many ways. Walt loved it when Gary took him to Hale's for Clam Chowder, usually on Fridays.

Gary was a great son with a beautiful heart for his dad. So sad to hear the news and we...

Please accept my condolences as a friend of Gary's back in high school days. We shared many a laugh and he had such a great smile and twinkle in his eyes. May your many years of memories bring you comfort at this difficult time. Anita Boyd Perkins

So very sorry for your loss. Gary was a very good example for many of us back in the late 60s and early 70s. I hope and pray that you and your family will be comforted at this time. He was a good man and I'm glad I had a chance to know Him and work with him. Gods many blessings.

I was impressed with Gary and his interest in the development of the young prospective police officer. The department relied heavily on his knowledge of antiquated radio systems and how to keep them operational. He provide many other services to the Washington County Sheriff's office that helped to keep the office running smoothly. He had a deep appreciation for his...

I have known Gary and Bessie for many years. I always remember reading stories about Gary delivering babies in route to hospitals. Baby couldn't make it to the hospital in time, so thank goodness for Gary. RIP Gary.
