Gary was one of the first people I met at my first knot tyers convention in Newport, VA. He showed me his sea chest and knotwork, not to brag, but to share. We both had a Scouting background and talked about that. I soon learned he had an easy way of talking and a joke or story wasn't far away. My wife and I enjoyed our times with Gary and Barb and I will greatly miss not seeing him again. If I know Gary, when I get to Heaven, he'll ask me to sit and show what he's been tying.

Gary and I were friends in scouting for many years in training and other scouting events in addition to being classmates at Sunset High School. He will be missed by all of us who knew him.
