Not sure what to say?

My heartfelt condolences to Linda and family. I got to know Gary as the sincere and fun Bibliophile who kept me busy as a Hand -Bookbinder for many years. He and his friend Paul would bring me boxes of books needing various repairs and I could be assured of at least an hour of interesting conversation on good restaurants, world events, travel adventures, what plants I had in my yard...and of course Scottish lore. One of my favorite books I bound for Gary was "Tam o'Shanter" by Robert...

Linda, I´m sorry I missed hearing of Gary´s passing. He was a kind neighbor.

I am so sorry I missed the services today. I just found out this evening. My most sincere condolences to Linda and the rest of the family. Though it is so many years ago, I hold Gary and you all always in my heart. Janice Lakers

Gary was one of the first I worked with at EK. We worked together with Rondy Brown as advisors for the Multicultural Club. We had great discussions with our students, went to several diverse restaurants to try new foods and experience different cultures, and we had a fun trip to Chicago. He was such an interesting man with so many stories to tell. He liked learning about others too; I admired that so much about him. He will be truly missed~

SHEIKO (I wrote this for Gary when he was retiring from East Kentwood High School.) Some words for a team member leaving this year. He was ever-ready to help and to guide. Passing outside the LMC´s windows, always you could see a tall figure that stood for discipline and for academic achievement. Candid he was,...

Gary was a champion of motivating learners. He worked endless hours with me and my special education students on media projects. His excitement when they succeeded was contagious. He was an amazing ambassador for learning. Prayers to his family

Gary was a very good neighbor and will be missed - condolences to Linda and the family - from Mike & Sue Denny

I am so sorry to hear this. Gary was such a positive influence toward critical thinking at every turn. His wry smile and gentle way I remember very well. Hard not to see a man that tall and that well-read as a mentor. Prayers to Gary and his family. -Kevin

My thoughts are with Gary´s family. Gary and I worked together at EKHS for many years. It was not unusual to find a copy of an article he found in my mailbox. He was always on the look out for anything that might be related to my subject and went out of his way to share. We also shared a love of food and exchanged names of new and inviting restaurants. I always expected to run into Gary at the Fallasburg Festival every year and looked for him this fall. May his memory be eternal....
