Gary Simpson

Gary hired me in May 1971 as his editorial assistant when I first moved to California, and changed the trajectory of my life. We didn´t always get along, but I always admired and respected him and learned so much. He made me love California and even tho we disagreed about many things we challenged each other- respectful disagreement being a virtue back then. My heart goes out to Sharon, Clay, and his family. He was a gem.

Sorry to hear of Gary's passing. I always looked forward to seeing him at the triennial reunions. We were friends in high school and at church youth group. He was a special friend.

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

I remember hunting with Gary on our farm (Mitchell) and others in the Easton area (doves, quail, pigeons, rabbits, etc). We also rode our horses around Easton. He was a better shot with a pellet gun than me. I think his grandfather helped him with his shooting skills. His mother worked at a telephone company and they lived on a farm with an old milk...
