Gary Robert Smith, age 74, of Denton, Tx passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.


He will be remembered as a loving father, Paw Paw , brother, uncle and friend with a gentle heart and a love for rock n roll and blues.


   Gary was born February 19, 1947 in Denton, Tx. He was passionate about rock n roll and blues which was evident by his guitar and bass playing days in many bands such as “The Mighty Turbans” and “Little By Little.” Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran.   


   He was preceded in death by his parents John Milton and Betty Gale Smith and his wife Bettye Cameron Smith. He is survived by his daughter, Leyla Smith, his 2 grandchildren, Sylas and Neyomi Smith, his sister Janet Smith Bolin and her husband Dave all of Denton, Tx and many nieces and nephews.


   His celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 24, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at DeBerry Funeral Services, 2025 W. University Dr, Denton, TX 76201.
