Not sure what to say?

I knew Gary through astronomy. He was full of wonderful ideas. He also very kind to me, which I appreciated given that he was a high-ranking professor when I, a young post-doctoral researcher, got to know him. I will miss him greatly, and will keep his memory in my thoughts and work.

I would just like to wish Sueli only good things in her life now. Gary and I were always good friends from the first grade on. Even I had not seen him very much in the last years of his life, I really do miss him!! Irv

Sincerest, sincere condolences. Marion.

Gary was a friend and always so supportive of Ohio State's collaborations with Brazil. I am grateful and honored to have had the chance to work together with Gary and get to know him through the Ohio State University Brazil Gateway. May he shine down upon us always from the stars. Paz, amor and luz to his family. Grande abraço Buckeye!

Dear Sueli,
Gary and I were friends and occasional collaborators since the early 1980's. My wife, Gary, and I once climbed Buckskin Pass together. We were all much younger then (the pass has subsequently gotten much higher). Our most memorable collaboration was a study of fractional charges, that we started in Aspen around 1990 and completed 20 years later! I remember Gary introducing me to some Brazilian delicacies at a school in Rio, my only trip to Brazil. I am attaching a picture of...

Hi Sueli,
like many others I was so sorry to hear of Gary's death. We were good friends. I miss him too. It must be especially heart-breaking for you.

I have a nice photo, but it is a .pdf file which this protocol does not accept.
I will send it via Gary's email address (the one I have) to you.
Tom (Weiler)

Hi Sueli,

We just heard about Gary's passing a few minutes ago from Rich Nochimson. What can we say to you. Be strong!

Gary and I were friends since the first grade, and then we both were happy to meet you and Gary, a few years ago.

Ditza and I send our condolences and in the Jewish tradition wish you "only good news in the future'!!

Love,

Ditza and Irving Kalet

Sueli - I'm desperately sorry! Scouts' honor, it does get
better with time, but very slowly.
lots of love,
Virginia
