Gary G. Stenson

When I was a rookie pastor at Kempton, Pennsylvania almost 50 years ago, Gary and Elsie were in the West Swamp pastorate. I looked up to him and he encouraged me. He was a faithful and unassuming servant of God.

I was a young woman when Rev Stenson served at West Swamp Mennonite Church. He tried different ways to reach out to his parishioners. My father served in WW II and Rev Stenson set up a breakfast meeting so the other members of the church who served could sit together at a meal. They were able to talk about the war since only they had the same type of experience. This meeting meant a lot to my father and I have always been grateful.. Condolences to the Stenson Family, I remember all of you well from our time at West Swamp and family get-togethers, Pastor and Mrs. Stenson were positive influences in my life. Pastor Stenson baptized me and I am grateful for his spiritual guidance.
