Not sure what to say?

I have the fondest memories of Gary, being the driving force behind the Katy Rescue School. He made sure that we kept the students first and formost. We always talked and cut-up with each other, it seemed normal to us. Chief Gary Tilton will be greatly missed by me and lots of others.

Just received the Herald Coaster today and learned of Gary's passing. I worked with Gary at Fort Bend County since the 70's. He was so full of life and always tryed to make us laugh, and he did just that. He always talked about his lovely wife and sweet daughter. I'm so very sorry for your loss, but will keep you all in my prayers.

I guess my daughter said it all when I told her and she said, "Oh, Momma, I just loved that man".

Gary, your passing left a big old hole in this world.

My sympathy to the family of Gary. I always admired him and was in awe of his vast knowledge of so many different areas in firefighting. It was a pleasure to know him and work with him. It is a great loss to the firefighting community.

An outstanding Fire Chief and city councilman also a fine man and good friend, Gary will be missed. Our sympathy to Jo Ann and Laurie.

We will surely miss you Gary. You were a wonderful man and great friend. I am proud to have worked with you in the fire dept. You will be GREATLY missed.

We will always remember Gary for his big smile and his "tell it like it is" sense of humor. He was a great teacher and leader and I personally will never forget how he taught me how to tie different styles of knots.(being that he would not let me leave the fire station until I learned a few). My husband got to know him over the last 5 years or so and he would always say Gary made the best of the situation when things were going wrong. He not only taught me and my husband that we could achieve...

My sympathy for family of Gary. Knowing him with Fort Bend County EOC Ham radio group, I have fond memories of Gary.
