He attended Central Bible College and Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri where he met his wife, Carol Lynn Bisignano of Medford, New Jersey.  They lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for most of their 46 years of marriage.

Gary served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969-1973 with duty stations in Washington, D.C. and Naval Air Station Dallas in Texas where he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

Gary worked as an accountant for Affiliated Food Stores, Sharp and Co., and other Tulsa firms, formed and founded G&L Sentry Hardware Stores in Prattville and Cleveland, Oklahoma with his brother, was a draftsman for McDonnell Douglas and a Contract Administrator for Benham Holloway Power Group where he retired upon completion of a Hydroelectric Power Plant in Dumas, Arkansas.

Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who carried his own personal business card that included his contact information, an American Flag and the slogan, “helping others” often providing it to strangers who may have needed it. He enjoyed watching his granddaughters play softball and teaching them how to play chess.

He was very involved with his church, Carbondale Assembly of God, where he once held the position of Board Secretary, sang in the choir, supported Royal Rangers, Missionettes, youth groups, as well as missionaries who came to town on leave.  He participated with his wife in the Sonshine Group in recent years at capping over 40 years of membership there.

Gary was an accomplished musician singing and playing piano in churches around the country and as a recording artist with his group, the Master’s Music Men with an album titled, “Sermons in Sound” in 1968.  He played the trombone in his football pads during halftime with the Sapulpa High School Marching Band in High School, with the Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps and with the orchestra at Carbondale Assembly of God.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Maxine Warnock of Sapulpa, OK and is survived by his wife, Carol of the home in Tulsa; a son, Gary L. Warnock Jr. of Tulsa; a daughter, Caryn Lynn Norris, husband Brian, and granddaughters, Aubry, Emily and Macy of Carmel, IN; a brother, Larry Warnock and wife Doris of Sand Springs, OK; a sister-in-law, Barbara DeHamer and husband Ron of Glenmoore, PA; a sister-in-law, Patricia D’Andrea of Clearwater, FL; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends all over the country.
