Although I never got the chance to work directly for Gary during my days at Deloitte Haskins + Sells and Deloitte, I will never forget the relationship mentoring and moreover the care and interest he provided me. Gary holds a very special place in our hearts. He married us, baptized our daughter and he or Julie wrote to us yearly for many years in exchanged Christmas cards. Gary was as my brother and more as we played baseball, tennis, golf,. We worked at the same drugstore. He road in my sidecar attached to my Indiana mortorcycle going to work and other places. We have been attached to one another most of our lives. I will miss him greatly. I am thankful for our times together and for the hospitality his family showed me last January. He is truly a servant of the Lord. My wife Gail and I send our condolences to his whole family. Peace to you my friend. ...

Dear Gary has sailed into Heaven, welcomed not only by his beloved Julie, but Christ Himself, His Mother Mary, St. Joseph, and a host of Saints. "Well done, good and faithful Gary!" If ever there was a Saint on earth and now in Heaven, it is Gary.

Our heart felt sympathies to the West Family and loved ones. Gary touched many lives, was such a kind and generous man with a great wit and personality. We were so fortunate to have had to opportunity to get to meet and know him when we visited San Francisco just a couple years ago. He will be cherished in memories by many forever.
