He was the husband of Carol L. (Klassner) Mantione. Born in Sicily, Italy, on February 18, 1950, Mike is a son of the late Andrea and Rosa Maria (Campanella) Mantione.
Mike was retired from Boscov's after working nine years as a truck driver. Prior to that, he was employed with the Chemical Leaman Corp. as a cement truck driver.
He enjoyed frequenting yard sales, watching movies and listening to Country Western and traditional Italian music.
In addition to his wife, Carol, Mike is survived by two children, Andrew J. Mantione, of Reading, and Michele L. (Mantione) Hendel and her husband, Daniel Jr., of Hamburg; a step-son, Stacy W. Hoke, and his companion, Melanie Griffin, of Bowmansville; two granddaughters, Caiden L. and Haley S. Hendel; four step-grandchildren: Cameron A., Cadence A. and Grayson Hoke and Noah Griffin; a step-granddaughter on the way; three siblings: Salvatore Mantione and his wife, Judy, of New York, Charles Mantione, of New York, and Carmela "Carrie" (Mantione) Zimmerman and her husband, Rick, of Virginia.
Mike is predeceased by two siblings, Giuseppe "Joe" Mantione and Paula (Mantione) Sperrazza.
Services for Mike will be Monday, April 18, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. in Auman's, Inc., Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink
Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 25 Stevens Ave., Reading, PA 19609.
