Gavin Agustus Smith, 19, of Slidell, Texas, passed away on February 18, 2025 in Bolivar, Missouri.


Born May 18, 2005, in Denton, Texas, he was the son of Alina Kay Stephens and Marvin Wayne Smith.


Gavin graduated from Buffalo High School in Buffalo, Missouri and worked as a welder for M&R Fabrications.


Those left to cherish his memory, are his parents; stepmother, Beth Smith of Slidell; Three sisters, Harper Smith, Brylie Lovelace, and Auden Lovelace of Slidell; Two brothers, Ross Smith and Hayden Wells of Slidell; Grandparents, Russell Stephens and wife Cindy of Buffalo, Missouri, Bobby Tackett and wife Glenda of Jermyn, Texas, Archie Walker of Slidell, and Lavon Martin of Balzora, Texas.


Visitation for Gavin is 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, February 28, 2025, at Coker Funeral Home in Sanger, Texas. Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Slidell, 119 CR 2822, Slidell, Texas.  J.D. Singer will officiate the service.


Pallbearers will be Ross Smith, Rusty Fennell, Dustie Fennell, Rustin Fennell, Dalcota Woods, and Jesse Regnold.

I met Gavin at Ryan High School I was a custodian there his first year there he followed me everywhere he was truly a friend I will truly miss him as the years go by I seen him grow into a quite young man it was my pleasure of meeting him

Gavin was a fine young man when I visited down on the Creek at Claire's. We went on several walks and I enjoyed his company. I'm so sorry for his loss.
