Although I only got to know Gavin in the last year, I was impressed with the vividness and warmth of his personality. I enjoyed working with him on the Akara project, enjoying especially his entertaining stories, his immense knowledge and experience, and how he brought people together to get the job done.

Knowing Gavin at high school,at 1st Castlecrag Scout group, at Macquarie University Earth Sciences and later as a fellow geologist was a pleasure. I will never forget what a wonderful person he was. As a geologist his achievements were remarkable. Heartfelt condolences to Gavins family.

My deepest condolences to Gavin's family. Gavin holds a very special place in my heart and is sorely missed. I enjoyed the 12 years I worked with Gavin at Niugini Mining and Equatorial Mining and wish I could have spent more time with him in recent years.

Condolences to his family. Gavin is certainly missed. I was privileged to accompany him to many different locations around the world. In particular, I enjoyed being educated by his running commentary regarding the geological origins of the countryside when travelling to any destination.

My condolences to all the family......I will never forget meeting Gavin and Pete in the Goroka sports club and my introduction to two up and gummying...may that wonderful gusto for life continue to inspire us all
