What a wonderful friend! She could always make me laugh. She played great tennis and great bridge. The first time we played bridge, she said, "now we don't cheat, but sometimes we lie". I knew she was going to be a great player. Being great at bridge means describing your hand with embellishments.

I have known Gayla for so long and have such good memories of playing tennis, taking trips, and having lunch together. All are filled with laughter and acting like we were kids again. There was never a doubt that she was a Christian- she had that knack of letting everyone know it without judging if we had the same faith. She will be missed by all of us who lived on the tennis courts all day.

I first saw my future father- and mother-in-law in 1977 at a Sunday night vespers service at ORU with their daughter Pam. I said in my heart that I wanted to be part of that family! Two years later Pam and I were married in Huntsville. I have been so blessed by my mother-in-law, "Moma Dean" and my father-in-law "Papa Dean" who both love Jesus and have been shining examples to Pam and I throughout our marriage.
