My condolences to the family. I have lived in Chicago for the past 35 years but only ran into Gazella a couple of times. It was good to see her and I'm always happy to run into someone from home (Memphis), especially a classmate. I remember Gazella as a very fun-loving and straight-forward person who was always with her pal Mattie Gilliam. I am a 1964 graduate of Melrose and remember Gazella as always being a very nice lady.

Gazella will be missed.Before we lost touch,we would talk on the phone for 2 or 3 hours at a time.There was never a lul in those conversations.Mathis ,she loved you so much.My memories of her will keep her always in my heart.I pray that this is true,for all of those that loved her.God bless you all.(Helen and Bobby)Thanks for trying to keep us in line all those special years ago.
